This is the first time in last five decades when Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) has declared their IIT-JEEofficial Cut-offs for admissions. This year IIT-JEE 2012 was conducted on Sunday, 8th April, 2012 at various examination centres across the country. More than 5 lakh candidates appeared in the exam. Overall the exam was easy and students were expecting higher cut-offs but this cut-off list has created problem for many students as a larger number of students will qualify in JEE as per the latest cut-offs.

This is minimum aggregate cut-off for IIT admissions. To be eligible to rank in All-India ranking you must score at least these scores. But it is not sure that with these minimum marks you will be able to get admission in any of the IITs. This is minimum criteria for eligibility but not for getting a seat in IITs.

IIT-JEE 2012 Minimum Qualifying Cut-off

• General category candidates need to score at least 10% in each category
• OBC candidates must have scored minimum 9% in each category
• SC/ST candidates must have scored at least 5% in each category

Aggregate Cut-Off for IIT-JEE 2012

General category candidates appearing in JEE need minimum 35% marks or at least 143 marks out of 408 and must have scored 14 out of 136 in three subjects: chemistry, physics and mathematics.

Aggregate cut-off for OBC candidates appearing in the JEE-2012 is minimum 31.5% or they must have scored at least 13 out of 136 in three subjects: chemistry, physics and mathematics.

For SC/ST and PD category candidate the aggregate cut-off is minimum 17.5% or at least they must have scored 7 out of 136 in three subjects: chemistry, physics and mathematics.
