Students should not ignore school exams for IIT JEE ………

MHRD minister finally succeeded in changing the pattern of IIT JEE, with IIT Council and state education ministers giving approval for the new nation wide common engineering entrance examination, which will be still called JEE.

Speaking at a function held at IIT Delhi  Kapil Sibal said “students do not get away from school scholastic system , an aberration has occurred between those who can afford to go for coaching for IIT-JEE and brilliant students who can’t afford to compete with them…As requested by the IITs, we are not changing the name of the examination. We will continue to call it the Joint Entrance Exam”.

Though the new pattern might not eliminate the need for coaching centers at the outset , it is very surprising to see that IIT JEE coaching centers around the country have already started advertising in papers for coaching of new pattern of Joint Entrance Examination.

to know if the new pattern of JEE is really going to reduce the burden on students , we will have to wait until the first implementation of the new exam.

FOR XII CLASS STUDENTS – After including 12th marks for IIT admission, Government planning to make 12th board easier

Earlier there was news that MHRD has made an announcment In a big shock to students who are preparing for IIT JEE joining coaching centers and joining dummy schools for their class 12,  that common aptitude-cum-advanced knowledge test will replace the IIT Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) in 2013 and the bigger shock is that 40% weight-age is given to class 12 marks.

Now the news is that government is now planning to make 12th board easier by allowing engineering aspirants to take multiple attempts at 12th board examinations,

“The suggestion was made to the CBSE chairman during the meeting. It’s up to the board to decide if this can be worked upon,The intention behind the common entrance test is to de-stress students With just one shot at taking the board exams and a lot depending on it (board marks) for admission, they feel stressed. That defeats the purpose of the common entrance test” Said a ministry official as quoted on DailyMail
